From the observations of how surface tension creates drops of water on a flat surface, come up these new benches designed by the Architects Claesson Koivisto Rune. The result is a friendly looking design that can co-exist in any kind of architecture, because the organic shapes are in fact inspired by nature itself.
Eight pieces with organic shapes like drops of water, that can be used in multiples and unique spaces, as they look different when turned around.
Designers Claesson Koivisto Rune (Stockholm, Sweden) were inspired by the behavior of the water. They photographed this, looked at the pictures, chose the better ones, scanned them, and then, made 3-D computer models. Result, eight different shapes that all can be combined with each other, in any configuration.
Versatile and diverse pieces, from the smallest at 50 cm to the biggest which is 150 cm with all sizes in between. The main structure is based on a 15mm birch plywood providing strength to the piece. Covered with two different foams to make it comfortable.
These pieces can be upholstered in multiple fabrics and leathers to match any space and style. The light and resistant steel legs, let the top shapes be the focal point in the design.
