The company designes since 1991 collections of outdoor furniture, the very first truly modern collection of furniture suitable for exterior use. Reichenberg + Weiss quickly became front runners of a whole new generation of manufacturers who brought the same high level of design to exterior furniture that matched the design and quality of interior furniture.
Designers and landscape architects particularly appreciate the innovatively designed exterior collections. From the mid-nineties, as a young company, Reichenberg + Weiss supplied benches and tables to big projects, many being international - in 2004 BMW furnished their entire new production plant in Leipzig with a newly designed range made of rectangular tubes masterminded by Volker Weiss. The collection continually evolves, introducing new designs. Branch VW-project answers the demand from clients and architects for bespoke designs.
In the late nineties cooperation with Gerald Wurz from Austria and his newly invented SunSquare canopies intensified. Volker Weiss established planning and installation of these bespoke patented sunsails as a business domain of its very own within the company. It was his responsibility to deliver a shade to the German Houses for the Olympic summer games in Athens, Beijing and London.
In 2012 Volker Weiss set up his own company, VW-sunsails. With many years of experience and credible references, Volker is a highly qualified specialist in the emerging sunsail market. His clients include private individuals, kindergartens, corporate clients, sport clubs and public institutions. Located in Krefeld (Germany) projects are carried out throughout Germany, Europe and overseas.
Simple elegance is achieved through his understanding of materials, attention to detail and practicality. From 2013 new designs of outdoor furniture contribute to the success of his company, Volker Weiss. With a love of creating contemporary designs and innovation, Volker has produced stunning new exterior sofas (VW-outdoor).
