The kitchen is designed in a loft style. The facades covered with a natural slate veneer, which have already won the hearts of Driada’s customers, are supplemented with new facades coated with a thin lightweight concrete layer. The industrial style is complemented by the handles, with their simulated rough finish.
The facades, covered with lightweight concrete and slate, are manufactured by the Driada factory. A specialized matte protective varnish is used in the production process, which makes the surface resistant to many household stains.
Lightweight concrete is a specialized material used for furniture. The raw materials for the production of lightweight concrete are similar to those used for the production of conventional concrete, and the production process is similar to that used to manufacture exterior concrete surfaces. However, in the production of light concrete, there are almost no fluctuations in the ratio of water to cement mass, and there is no exposure to the elements, which leads to a more uniform surface color. The various small shrinkage holes, cracks and traces from the moulding are not defects, but rather give this model a more stylish appearance. The difference in color between the individual parts is acceptable and is due to the specific nature of the lightweight concrete production process and the natural raw materials used.
Another feature is that the columns are attached to the wall without legs or a pedestal, using specialized powerful suspensions elements: the total weight of the suspended part is more than 500 kg.
