Funding for start-ups at 45 trade fairs in the coming year

Young innovative companies will receive increased support at industry shows in Germany. Support is also still available at nearly 60 trade fairs this year

Young, innovative companies will be supported at 45 trade shows in Germany next year. The focus is on industry trade shows with a high level of internationality.

Among the Cologne furnishing fairs, ORGATEC is included in the program for 2022 and imm cologne, LivingKitchen and interzum for the upcoming year.

As the association of the German trade fair industry, AUMA coordinates the program of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, which allows start-ups from industry, the skilled trades or technology-oriented service sectors to exhibit their innovations.

Jörn Holtmeier, Managing Director of the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry AUMA explains:

"Trade fairs are one of the most important instruments for start-ups to make a major market entry. Trade fairs offer the best stage for product premieres, and are amplifiers and spotlights all in one. This year, there are still almost 60 possible participations for young, innovative companies in the trade fair calendar, a record number. Every year, around 600 start-ups take advantage of this opportunity to meet new business partners or customers. Trade fairs are the springboard to the market for start-ups."

The federal government's trade fair program supports the marketing and, in particular, the export of innovative products and processes by companies from Germany. Participation in trade fairs with a high level of internationality on the exhibitor and visitor side is supported.

The funding includes, among other things, a 60 percent reimbursement of stand rental and stand construction costs when participating as an exhibitor in a joint stand.
