Black Friday Sale: "Living" is third-strongest category

A survey has now determined what consumers expect from Black Friday Sale and in which categories they wish to shop. The "living" category can't compete with categories such as "electronics" or "fashion" at the big discount spectacle at the end of November. Read the results here.

"End consumers have their opinions and clear ideas as to what makes up discounts", is how Konrad Kreid, Managing Director of Black Friday GmbH, summarises the current survey with 1,278 participants. In the process, buyers differentiate precisely according to individual products.

Black Friday 2019: are interior furnishings being called for?

Around 27 percent of end consumers plan to shop in the "Living" category. At the same time, around 22 percent are still not certain which product it should be. 31 percent of those surveyed want to purchase a household device, while 29 percent wish to acquire new furniture, and decoration is at the top of the Black Friday wish list for 26 percent of those surveyed. Around a third (36 percent) of those interested expect discounts ranging between 31 and 50 percent here.

Other categories for the big bargain day, which is in the meantime often expanded to an entire week, are clearly even more popular: more than 66 percent of those surveyed plan to make purchases in the "electronics" category, and 52 percent are searching for affordable offers in the "fashion" category.

According to a survey from October 2019, 62 percent of Germans want to spend 300 Euro or more on Black Friday.
