In our series, we regularly introduce you to some of these coveted pieces of furniture - today, the Eames Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames.

Eames Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames (Vitra

The designer couple Charles and Ray Eames designed the "Lounge Chair" in the 1950s with the aim of creating an elegant yet very comfortable armchair. Since then, it has been manufactured by Vitra using almost the same process.

Together with the matching ottoman, the Lounge Chair is now available in two sizes and in various combinations of leather covers, wooden shells and bases.

Its seat and back shell is made of black pigmented walnut, American cherry or black ash and stands on an aluminium base. Use makes it even more beautiful. Specialised workshops restore even decades-old specimens.
