Arda von Kvadrat (Design: Front)

True to nature and resource-saving: The double-knitted textiles in the Arda collection replicate structures and color tones that occur in nature. Front's designers discovered their models in Swedish forests, snowy landscapes and lakeshores, then photographed and scanned them in three dimensions. The design was inspired by studies showing that spending time in nature has positive effects on well-being, memory and creativity. The designers want to bring this effect indoors with their fabrics. Arda is designed to minimize harmful effects on the environment. The collection is made from primarily natural wool yarn using an innovative manufacturing process. Compared to conventional methods, the innovative technique uses 80 to 95 percent less water.

Brancusi aus der Kollektion Evoke von Sahco (Design: Vincent Van Duysen)

Lightfast and fire retardant: The decorative fabric Brancusi, printed on both sides, was tested according to the strict rules of the NEPA 701 fire test. For this purpose, the material to be tested is held vertically over a flame for twelve seconds. The text is passed if it extinguishes itself no later than two seconds after the source of the fire is removed. In addition, the burnt areas must not exceed a certain length and the textile must no longer burn when it comes into contact with the ground. The flowing marbled design of the jacquard fabric is inspired by the work of sculptor Constantin Brancusi.
