interzum 2019 – the event programme

International market players and opinion leaders from the global interiors industry will gather at the prestigious congresses and talks at interzum 2019. Here we present an overview of the event programme.

Innovation Workshop for Wood-Based Materials

Together with Koelnmesse, the Association of the German Wood-Based Materials Industry (VHI), the Dresden Institute of Timber Technology (IHD) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut (Fraunhofer WKI), will be hosting the traditional industry gathering and exchange of ideas the day before interzum 2019 opens. This is a chance for members of the interiors industry to meet up, network and explore innovations from the wood-based materials industry before the trade fair opens. The best thing about it: this time the workshop itself is geared towards innovation. Attendees can expect innovator pitches, kick-off talks and discussions around themed tables, plus the award ceremony for outstanding student projects.

Venue: Congress Centre North, Konrad-Adenauer-Saal

VDID Industrial Design Day

The VDID Industrial Design Day 2019 at interzum is focused on industrial design as a driver and reflection of technological, economic and socio-cultural trends. In the six decades since the German Association of Industrial Designers (VDID) was founded, the profession has changed dramatically. For instance, industrial design work is increasingly driven by digital interfaces and process management. The transformation of the profession has also been apparent for many years in the submissions to the VDID Newcomers’ Award. The award recognises young talent for the industrial design of the future and gives up-and-coming industrial designers a platform and supports them in making a successful start to their careers.
