Following on from imm cologne, the next highlight of the year for the interior design industry is already getting ready to open its doors. ZOW, the supplier fair for the furniture and interior design industry, will take place from 6 to 8 February 2018 in Bad Salzuflen. Conceived as a mix of an exhibition and a business meeting, ZOW will attract 171 exhibitors from 16 countries. They will present the trends and innovations in furniture and interiors.
One thing’s for sure: The shortage of living space is only going to increase. There’s hardly any free space left in cities, and what is available is out of Joe Bloggs’s price range. Architects, designers and furniture manufacturers are responding to this shortage with intelligent concepts for the tiniest living spaces. The key requirements here are good planning and adaptable furniture. Prefabricated mounting parts and portable furniture are attracting growing interest.
The TINY SPACES special event will take “Great Ideas in a Compact Setting” as its slogan as it addresses this issue. The special event is presented at ZOW in collaboration with the Detmold School of Architecture and Interior Architecture. It gives furniture suppliers and material manufacturers the opportunity to showcase intelligent products that work in small spaces and combine adaptability and easy storage. The focus is on convenience, flexibility and storage solutions.
Intelligent, self-learning and cognitive – is this what tomorrow’s homes will look like? Is the industry ready for how digital natives will live in the future? Digitalisation and the IoT (Internet of Things) have been a topic of interest for suppliers to the furniture industry for a long time. Trade visitors at ZOW will be able to view the intelligent development concepts already available at a number of presentation islands.
The furniture, interior construction and caravan industries are committed to sustainability. The Lightweight Construction Association igeL (Interessengemeinschaft Leichtbau e. V.) is presenting a special event area dedicated to lightweight solutions. At the association’s stand in Hall 20, innovative joining solutions and smart materials will be on show across 20 main stands and more than 30 workbenches. Interested companies and individuals are warmly invited to visit and see the latest joining solutions and to present their own lightweight materials.
ZOW is accompanied by an interesting programme of lectures. The speakers will discuss key topics such as “Mobile Working Goes Digital”, “Efficient Marketing with Augmented & Virtual Reality” and “Industry 4.0”.
