Prof. Dr. Thorsten Scheer studied art history, philosophy, literature and history. Since 2003 he has been teaching art history, architectural history and architectural theory at the Peter Behrens School of Arts at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
He has written numerous books, essays and specialist articles on topics of recent art and architecture history. He was also scientific director of the exhibitions "City of Architecture. Architecture of the City "at the Neues Museum in Berlin (2000) and" Symmetry and Symbol. The architecture of Fritz Schupp and Martin Kremmer "at Zeche Zollverein (2002); he conceived the architecture exhibition on the occasion of the state's anniversary "60 years of architecture and urban planning in NRW" (2006) and the exhibition "Architektur im Aufbruch" on architecture and urban planning of the 1960s (2009), and also curated the exhibition "Peter Behrens and the diversity of design" (2015) in the NRW Forum Düsseldorf as part of a student project of the Peter Behrens School of Arts.
